You know the famous cool edit program for the Wintels. There are several editors out there, but I'd like to have this for my own. Well, and rosegarden keeps crashing it's sequencer on my machine.
Well, I need a project to learn the GTK+ platform. So, both ends met. Since I like to share my success and misfortune with You, SF.NET is the perfect repository.
Probably it won't come out as Cool Edit replacement, won't have plugins and all these fancy signal processing, but who knows what it will evolve to?
The project started as C++. Of course, using GTK+ directly from a class framework makes to real sense. The result was ugly. And everything compiled sloooooooow with GNU-C++ 3.3 on my decent laptop. So after a long doubting hibernation I decided to recode everything to plain C. This will take some time, and the code (0.0.7) is unspeakable right now.
Note: all .cc files will be renamed as .c thus leading to more attic files. Sorry, it is CVS...
